Silent vigil

Artist Statement:

“Silent Vigil” is a tribute to the lives lost in the tragic Apalachee High School shooting. This acrylic painting features four peace lilies against a navy blue background. The canvas measures 4 square feet, representing the four lives lost during this devastating incident.

Peace lilies are renowned for their symbolism of purity, healing, and peace. They reflect both the lives lost and the spirit of resilience. The navy blue background signifies the school's identity, while the gold centers of the lilies honor the memory of those taken from us, symbolizing light and hope amid darkness.

My hope is that this artwork will serve as a testament to the lives remembered and a reminder of the collective strength and compassion that emerges from such profound loss, fostering enduring hope for peace and healing.
